Jendral Soedirman University (Unsoed ) , is one of the State Universities ( PTN ) in Indonesia, which is located in Purwokerto , Banyumas , Central Java .

This university was established on 23 September 1963 , pursuant to Presidential Decree No.195/1963 and Ministerial Decree No. . 153/1963 . Jendral Soedirman name itself is taken from a Commander in Chief who is a national hero born in Banyumas place where the university stands and a living monument to the memory of his services to the homeland , the nation and the state .

Campus has an area of ​​over 850,000 m² has a relatively cool air because geographically located at the foot of Mount Slamet north of Purwokerto , Banyumas , in addition to not being cool is also located right in the middle of the city so that it can be categorized conducive and comfortable for learning activities teaching , as well as for other educational activities . Jendral Soedirman University at the beginning of the course only has 3 faculties , namely the Faculty of Agriculture , Faculty of Biology , Faculty of Economics . but along with the development from time to time there 8fakultas currently consisting of more than 50 diploma courses both undergraduate and Graduate Program . and for the future of Jendral Soedirman University , will continue to perform its wings developments in various sectors in order to achieve the ideals of Jendral Soedirman University as " World Class Civic University "

 Student dormitory

Student Jendral Soedirman is a relatively new tool in the campus environment UNSOED , functioned since July 2010. The domitory is located in the building complex UNSOED GOR Susilo Soedarman , Karangwangkal .

The building constructed five (5) floors , with each floor have adequate 2 ( two ) lobby , 24 (twenty four ) rooms , with eight (8 ) WC and bathroom . Each room is provided 4 -bed , 4 closets , desks and chairs .

On the 1st floor there is a reception desk that serve the residents and visitors , cafeteria , meeting rooms , special kitchen staff ( residents forbidden to cook ) , and space management . For students or guests only men are allowed to be on the 1st floor dormitory building . Motorcycle parking lot is behind the building .

Excess lived dormitory :

1.Domitory UNSOED was in the middle of campus , so campus closer distances , savings ( transportation ) , travel time , and energy

2 . Dormitory atmosphere conducive to learning

3 . Boarder students of all study programs in Unsoed , because it's one of the dorms as academic resources , the development of social life , coorperation and tolerance among residents .

4 . Academic coaching occupants got Pensions , Interest and Talent , Social and Mental Spiritual Culture

5 . 24- hour security . Officers on patrol at night

6 . Hotspot areas 24 hours nonstop

7 . Available business areas that provide all the basic needs of residents, so it does not have to go outside the hostel for

meet their needs .

8 . Full facilities : a bed , mattress , pillow sheets , study table and wardrobe , tv in each lobby
